for JEAN BOGGIO -- RENOVATOR

Come on in.  Have a glass of wine.  Stay for dinner and I'll tell you a story.

REHABBING, RENOVATING -- old houses and myself -- is my focus for the next decade of my life. As a single older woman, the rest of my life will be an adventure. My philosophy is keep moving so they don't get you. (It's hard to hit a moving target). Follow me as I buy, move into, and renovate various old houses with good bones, making them beautiful again for new owners.

I'm now following a passion that has been running through my life but lying submerged beneath the surface while I followed other trails. Now is the time to live my passion. Follow my adventures on UNDER THE MAINE SUN -- access through the left sidebar.

STOLEN FIELDS

Tells the story of a family -- my family -- and the struggle to survive through three generations. It tells of government greed, and human foibles. It has laughter and tears.  A good read.

Check out my BLOG - UNDER THE MAINE SUN for my adventures as an older single woman, first moving to Maine and establishing a new life. Along the way I renovate a 175 year-old house, find a job (at age 65), meet the neighbors (a story in itself) and build new friendships. That was Part I.

Now we're at Part II. I'm now age 71 and selling the house in Maine. I've already bought a new old house (1914) in Mountain Home, NC -- between Hendersonville and Asheville in the western tail. The focus is on selling the Maine house and the renovation of the NC property -- as well as miscellaneous thoughts and observations as they occur to me. There are new things to do and friends to be met.

View the website for the Maine house at CAMDEN REAL ESTATE.

Read about the move to Maine in past entries. The lighter side along with serious observations.  My later life as a single older woman might be useful and entertaining for others interested in figuring out what they want to do with the rest of their lives. Find out how I came to be in Maine and read about the renovation of my charming old cape house. Also, find out what happens when two neighbors go at it in court in a Hatfield-McCoy vendetta.

The current focus is on rehabbing/renovating old houses in North Carolina and selling the house in Maine.

I look forward to hearing from you using my CONTACT page and your comments on my blog.

Thanks for checking in.
